Family Cichlidae

The family Cichlidae, which includes all of the fishes commonly known as cichlids, have hobbyist all over the globe wild about them there are over 2000 specimens of Cichlidae recorded on file today and there is said to be many more with the hybrid breeding that’s going on in the hobby today. Given their sensational colors, strict personalities and awesome displays of aggression it is easy to understand why people would get so carried away with them. Cichlids can be found in North America, Central America, South America, Africa, and Asia they have stretched far over the centuries.
